Meredith Baxter Turned Lesbian at 55

Meredith Baxter played the mother on “Family Ties” in the 80’s. According to the AP, at the age of 62, Meredith Baxter reavealed she is a lesbian in an interview on the Today Show. She’s been in a relationship with a woman for four years. She also goes on to say’
“Some people are saying, were you living a lie? And, you know, the truth is, not at all. This has only been in the past seven years.”
So she figured out she was a lesbian when she was 55? Gimme a break. That’s a little ridiculus. She was married 3 times and has 5 kids. She probablycouldn’t get a man so she tried women.
Tiger Woods’ BS Apology for Cheating

Tiger Woods posted a statement of apology on his official website about the incriminating voicemail message that Jaimee Grubbs leaked. Here are some excerpts:
“I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves.
I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.”
Blah, blah, blah. Tiger is just sorry he got caught!
Additionally, proof that a second girl, Rachel Uchitel who is a nightclub hostess, accompanied Tiger on his trip to Australia is floating around. The paperwork show that Tiger’s people booked and paid for the hostess’ trip to Australia with him.
What a pig! He has this beautiful wife and family and he still has to fool around. His wife will probably stay with him cause of his money!

On her life with her new husband, and the rumors that their marriage is not a legal one:
Were married. Thats all. It happened in Africa, in Benin. The girls were there, and we had a wonderful time. It was very calm, family-motivated and spiritual. Djimon and I enjoy discussing anything from politics to wine, and we have enriching, private, happy, balanced lives together. Thats probably the thing that would shock people most: We do things like go to the grocery store and have fun with our kids. Were a normal family, doing the best we can.
On being a self-made entrepreneur and independent woman:
Its absolutely true! Do I need anything from [Djimon]? No. I focus on my kids. I work my butt off. That might be one high-maintenance thing about me: My schedule is always crazy. So am I up and on the phone early in the morning? Yes. Is that sometimes annoying? Yes. But I hold my weight emotionally in a relationship. At times, sure, if youre down and Im up, and I can lend you a hand, or vice versa, great. Im a very supportive partner.
On making time for her children:
My family is the most important thing to me. Ive never missed any type of performancenot one recital, not one karate belt. If theres a toe being tapped or a tune being whistled, I am there. We do everything together. I know we live a little bit of a different life, with all the running around and the TV show, so I want to make sure were even more grounded.
On hosting a traditional Christmas at home with her family:
I bake. I make a great German chocolate cake. Anyone who knows me will tell you Im a great baker, the best. When I bake something, I swear to god, its gone before it hits the plate.

Tiger Woods Releases New Statement
Tiger Woods has finally broken his silence. Here’s his statement, taken from his website:
I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.
Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.
But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don’t share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one’s own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.
Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it’s difficult.
I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.
At this point, I’m not surprised, but I have to admit, I am SO disappointed. Tiger seemed like one of the few clean-cut high profile athletes out there.
I understand his desire for privacy, but you know, limited privacy is part of what comes with fame and fortune. Or do you think the tabloids have gone to far in this case?
