Jessica Simpson has been spending the past week in New York City to see her sister Ashlee Simpson perform on Broadway, but last night she enjoyed some time out in the Big Apple shopping for handbags.

In other news it looks like Jessica has moved on from Tony and has her eyes say on Billy Corgan, former frontman of the band Smashing Pumpkins.

She has completely fallen for Billy and his easygoing, smart attitude,a close friend of Jess said. She says she wants to take things a lot further.

Her friends said Jessica has secretly been crushing on him for months and felt there was a connection.

Jessica spent an evening in November at a friends party in L.A. flirting with Billy.

As the night went on, an eyewitness said, Things got more intense and they talked with their faces just inches apart.

Jessica truly deserves some happiness in her life. I hope she finds it!

(HMG) – There is nothing so precious to a gossip blogger than when a third party source spills the deets about a rumored romance. Oliver Stone was the third party to step in this time about Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan.

The two are working on Oliver Stone’s new film, a sequel to the 1987 smash hit ‘Wall Street’.

In it, the two are young lovers in New York. Apparently, that romance spilled off of the big screen and into real life.

“I seem to be a good casting director,” Stone joked as he dished to the NY Post about the young and new couple.

I think this is an adorable match. Shia was once rumored to be with Megan Fox, and that wasn’t a pairing that seemed so great. But Carey seems to sweet…this gossiper approves!

I’m guessing Jennifer Aniston didn’t like this service. Jennifer had a girls’ night out with Courtney Cox, yoga instructor Mandy Ingber, and jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer.

The evening was probably fun, but it was when Jennifer left that things went bad. She was served with “legal papers hidden in a basket of flowers” while leaving the Sunset Tower Hotel.

Apparently, Jennifer has been named as a witness in a sexual harrassment lawsuit against her agent.

Talk about a downer to the evening! Process servers can get pretty sneaky, can’t they?

So ABC was afraid to have Adam Lambert on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ or on their New Year’s Eve show. Instead they’re having him appear on ‘The View.’

Okay… they’re afraid of what he’ll do, so they put him on daytime TV???

His performance will be taped ahead of time, and he is one of Barbara Walter’s ‘10 Most Fascinating People of 2009,’ so it kinda makes sense, but… ‘The View’?

ABC may be bowing to pressure from GLAAD, which released a statement yesterday saying Adam was being subjected to a double standard. (You can read the entire statement after the break, by clicking on the continue reading link below.)

Well, hopefully this will end the whole controversy. It’s getting old, don’t you think?

SNL alum Maya Rudolph and her director boyfriend Paul Thomas Anderson welcomed their second daughter, Lucille. On November 6. Yep, you read that right: nearly One Month Ago. Maya’s rep made the announcement to People yesterday afternoon.

Talk about flying waaaay under the radar! Maya chose not to find out the sex of this baby (just like with her first daughter, now four-year-old Pearl), and here’s why:

“Because when you’re ready to throw in the towel and you’ve got nothing positive to think about or feel, because you’re so heavy and you want to float in a pool of salt water to be buoyant, it was nice to have something to look forward to.”

Yeah, Maya describes pregnancy pretty accurately! For those of you who have kids (or want to), do you think you’d rather find out in advance (and have fun picking everything out for your little boy or girl) or be surprised?

(HMG) – Well if you believe that alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel, got paid off by Tiger Wood’s people (to the tune of $1 million some claim) to cancel her press conference, you’ll understand this next event in what is now a four ring circus. A fourth woman (joining Uchitel, Jaimee Grubbs and Kalika Moquin) claiming to have had an affair with the pro golfer has already lawyered up, and is now preparing to cash in tell her story to the media. The unnamed woman, who is a former VIP cocktail server, a familiar occupation for Tiger mistressing, but she apparently met Tiger near his home in Orlando. While her identity is not known yet, she is retaining the services of Orlando attorney Michael O’Quinn, and claiming that her relationship with Tiger lasted more than two years, and began in 2004, when she was 20.

(HMG) – Nicolas Cage who’s mostly been in the news of late for his debt issues, has been given an award and a position by the UN, and it has nothing to do with single handily helping the economy with his shopping sprees. Instead the prolific actor was named Goodwill Ambassador for Global Justice for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Secretary General Ban Ki-moon also presented the 45-year-old Oscar winner as the UNCAs recipient for Global Citizen of the Year Award for Humanitarian Achievements. The announcement came during the 14th Annual Benefit Dinner of the UN Correspondents Association (UNCA) in New York Friday, December 4, the UN News Center reported. Cage said his role will be “to shine a spotlight on the need for global justice.” His do-gooding ways are already well established, as the Amnesty International advocate has donated $2 million to establish a fund to help former child soldiers and led a campaign around his film, “Lord of War,” to raise awareness about international arms control.
