In a climb to celebrity that would make ‘meteoric’ look like under-achievement, Scottish singing sensation, Susan Boyle has now achieved her longest-held dream to sing a duet with Broadway star, Elaine Paige.
While shooting one scene for a British documentary charting her rise to the top, the 48-year singer was due to perform Paige’s classic duet, ‘I Know Him So Well.’
But it was not until just before the song began that the producers revealed who her partner would be. And Susan was just blown away.
I never thought I would see myself standing on the same stage with such an icon from West End theatre, let alone singing with her as an equal, said Susan, who admits to having practiced singing along with Elaine, alone in her bedroom in Scotland with a hairbrush instead of a mic.
The documentary, ‘I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story,’ charts the rapid ascent of the modest West Lothian song-bird, from her show-stopping debut in April on ‘Britain’s Got Talent,’ to the release of her album two weeks ago that sold 1.2-million copies in the UK alone – in less than ten days.
Susan will also be joined on the show by Piers Morgan, who will present her with a gold disk for such rare sales success.
True to her quirky nature, however, the UK’s Daily Telegraph says Susan left the audience somewhat bemused when she broke into a true Scottish jig while singing the slow, gentle ballad ‘Who I Was Born To Be.’ The directors told Sue to keep still, and they shot it again…And she did the same thing!
Whatta star!…

We love seeing a legendary musician taking a stand for gay rights!
Bruce Springsteen has written a letter titled A Brief Statement From Bruce in which Springsteen declares his support for New Jersey’s gay marriage bill!
The bill will be voted on by the Senate on Thursday, and the cause sincerely needs all the support it can receive right now.
Writes Springsteen:
Like many of you who live in New Jersey, Ive been following the progress of the marriage-equality legislation currently being considered in Trenton.
Ive long believed in and have always spoken out for the rights of same sex couples and fully agree with Governor Corzine when he writes that, The marriage-equality issue should be recognized for what it truly is a civil rights issue that must be approved to assure that every citizen is treated equally under the law.
I couldnt agree more with that statement and urge those who support equal treatment for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters to let their voices be heard now.
Thank you, Bruce!

Sandler And Maniston Play Pretend!

Oh goody!
Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are teaming up for Pretend Wife, a romantic comedy with a plot kept firmly under wraps!
Who’s gonna want to steal that shiz?!
The film, which was once known as Holiday in Hawaii, is planning to shoot early next year and eyeing a release near Valentine’s Day 2011.
Sounds like another predictable snoozefest!

Chris Klein, What Happened?!?

Jeez! It’s called Rogaine, man! Buy some!
Chris Klein left Nobu restaurant last night looking a lot older than we remember him.
It’s been a while, we know, but seriously, what the hell?
Remember, you DIDN’T marry Katie Holmes, so you shouldn’t have that much stress in your life!
Plus, if you lose anymore, you might need to rock the Trump comb-over just to be able to leave the house.
Yikes!
