(HMG) – Gorgeous British actress Jean Simmons, has died Friday evening at her home in Santa Monica, of lung cancer at the age of 80. At age 14, Simmons made her movie debut and became well-known for her work in other British films, including her first starring role in the film adaptation of Uncle Silas, but it was playing Ophelia to Laurence Olivier’s Hamlet that made her a star. A prolific stage and film actress, Simmons, won an Emmy Award for her role in the 1980s miniseries “The Thorn Birds.”

The auburn-haired beauty starred in many notable movies with many leading men, included Guys and Dolls (Marlon Brando), The Robe (Richard Burton), Elmer Gantry (with Burt Lancaster), Until They Sail (with Paul Newman), Spartacus, (Kirk Douglas), This Earth Is Mine (Rock Hudson), The Big Country (Gregory Peck), All the Way Home (Robert Preston), Mister Buddwing (James Garner) and Rough Night in Jericho (Dean Martin). For her role in ‘Guys and Dolls’, Simmons was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Actress, and won the Golden Globe for Best Musical/Comedy Actress.

I don’t know if it’s the Hills, the plastic surgery or the whole Speidi-concept thing, but I think the world is biased when it comes to judge Heidi Montag’s art (her music). So much that she sold only 658 albums in the whole entire United States of America.

I don’t know, I thought her single Twisted is pretty good… Maybe not the best vocals or lyrics, but I kinda like it. Judge for yourself:

Well, Russell Brand is a smart man! Worried that his girlfriend Katy Perry would get snatched away from him, Brand decided it was time to put a ring on it. It’s a Il Cielo restaurant in Beverly Hills that the couple held their engagement party with about 50 guests, including Katy’s mother.

(HMG) – The last time we saw Joaquin Phoenix, he was doing that “rapping as performance art” thing looking like a disheveled Charles Manson. But he has re-emerged clean cut again and joined ex girlfriend Liv Tyler to tape a promo for To Write Love on Her Arms, a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. Joaquin also did a second video with Miley Cyrus and some other guy (below), and they are all encouraging everyone to vote for the charity to win a one million dollar donation for suicide prevention and the launch of a live online crisis network. You can vote and get more info here. Was the rapper thing an elaborate hoax, we may never know but I doubt it. Just thinking too, Liv Tyler is recently divorced and Joaquin seems sane again, could they get back together?

Jon Gosselin knows that the paparazzi were headed to Park City, Utah this week for the Sundance Film Festival – so naturally he booked the first flight there. A resident said that Jon and his girlfriend, Morgan Christie, seemed to be hoping to be recognized.

They just kept walking up and down Main Street,” a poor onlooker describes. “They were holding hands, and it was pretty obvious they wanted everyone to see them. They kept walking up and down the same street over and over.”

The onlooker said that Jon seemed annoyed at having his picture taken, even though there was only one photographer trying to take Jon’s photo and that it looked staged:

“It was weird though, it looked like the guy was hired or something,” our Sundance spy tells us. “It seemed like there were a few paparazzi on Main, none of whom could care less about Gosselin. But this one camera guy made sure to go wherever Jon and his girlfriend were. It looked pathetic.

Another local resident said this:

“Ugh, that huge douche Jon Gosselin is here,” a gal working at one of the restaurants on Main was overheard saying. “Great, he’s totally going to give Sundance a bad name. Go back to where you came from, or at least home to your f–king eight kids.”

Ouch! Do you think Jon hired the photog to follow them around? I’m sure it happens more than we think.
