[HMG] – Unlike Oscar nominated actor Joaquin Phoenix, Edgar Allen Poe is not a name widely known among movie fans. But that insult seems destined to change.

Having apparently ‘retired’ from acting in October last year, the 35-year old actor is returning to films to portray the iconic author in a screen adaptation of a story first found in one of Poe’s less famous books, The Mystery of Marie Rogt, which he published in 1842.

The new film will be based on a novel entitled ‘The Beautiful Cigar Girl’ by Daniel Stashower, which tells the true story of the brutal death of 20-year old tobacco clerk, Mary Rogers.

On July 25th 1841, Mary’s badly-beaten body was found floating in the Hudson in Hoboken, New Jersey. No one was ever charged with her murder, but it was later claimed that Mary was the victim of a back-street abortion gone wrong.

Poe knew Mary well as he’d bought cigars from her many times. Her scandalous death thus raised both his anger and his intense imagination, and a year later his book The Mystery of Marie Rogt, retold the tale, with his fictional detective, C. Auguste Dupin returning to unravel the case and discover the villain.

The new movie will cover the whole scope of this drama, from Mary’s sad death to the involvement of Poe. And Joaquin has agreed to return to the screen to play the intense but inventive Boston-born author.

But details on the movie are hard to discover So far, there’s no director or script, and no studio has so far admitted to being involved. But with Joaquin’s name in the mix that will soon come together.

Tiger Woods is not messing around in getting his career back!

He has hired former presidential advisor to George W. Bush, Ari Fleischer, to help with his return to golf. The man is also responsible for repairing the tattered image of Mark McGwire post ‘roid scandal.

They were in his living room this week going over a strategy for how to handle Bay Hill in two weeks, claims a source, referring to the Arnold Palmer invitational in two weeks.

Ari Fleischer Sports Communications focuses on crisis response and control. It is also a joint venture with IMG Sports & Entertainment, who represents Tiger.

His friends definitely wanna see him come back strong!

Its been a rough road the last three or four months in Tigers life and his familys life, said longtime friend of Tiger, Mark OMeara. Its a very difficult situation. Golf is what Tiger does, and possibly part of the healing process is to get back at it.

Lots of luck, Tiger! He’ll need it!

Jenni “JWoWW” Farley supposedly turned up her nose at the Cadillac Escalade sent to bring her from Long Island to the Estate club in Boston last weekend.

“First she made the car wait 45 minutes,” says a source. “Then she told the driver she doesn’t travel in Escalades.”

Estate then made arrangements for a limo to come get the Jersey Shore cast member!

Is she effing serious? These Jersey Shore kids are getting a little TOO big for their britches — tone it down a notch, girl!

Jennifer Garner and daughter Violet Affleck were spotted in Santa Monica today. The two headed to a local bakery to pick up a little afternoon treat.

As much as Violet is photographed, you never see her throwing tantrums or seeming to be grumpy. She looks like such a happy-go-lucky girl.

Kendra Wilkinson was snapped this morning as she went for a morning jog with her personal trainer in Los Angeles. Kendra is working hard to get back her pre-baby body.

Kendra shared that she’s considering a breast reduction and that she’ll make a “cast” of her “girls” before she has the surgery.

“I feel like I’m a little top heavy now,”

“We did a belly cast when I was pregnant,” she said. “We’ll do a boob cast.”

Um, yeah. I think if you’re going to miss them THAT much, you might not want to get the reduction. LOL!

In this sneak peak from Jessica Simpson’s upcoming reality show/documentary “The Price of Beauty”, she visits a Buddhist temple in Thailand with Ken Paves and Cacee Cobb. A Buddhist monk tries to show them how to meditate, but the process takes a bit longer than Jessica realized and the harder she tries to restrain herself…the less successful she is.

Looks like Tiger Woods could be making his return to golf fairly soon. In fact, just in a few days.

A golf tournament between Lake Nona Country Club and Isleworth Country Club is set to begin on March 22nd. And Tiger, who’s a member of Isleworth, is said to be getting ready to compete.

According to reports, organizers of the exclusive event are switching things up this year.

Normally the clubs hand out passes to allow fans to get close to the golfers, but sources are saying that management for Isleworth has suddenly decided to decrease the number of passes given to Lake Nona employees.

In fact, several staff members were reportedly told the decision was all the doing of Tiger’s camp to minimize access to the cheater.
